Passport is your record
Identity, family number, XP, rank, achievements, your linked wallet, quests, and lore live here.
Field guide · v0.1
Your Passport remembers what fast-moving chat cannot: when you arrived, what you contributed, and how your Gremlin grew.
Sign in with Discord. Your first profile becomes a permanent Gremlin Passport with a family number such as #0042.
Add your profile details and link a Solana wallet. Linking requires a message signature — never a transaction or seed phrase.
Choose a quest, do the work in the community, then submit a link or short description as proof.
A moderator reviews the proof. Approved work becomes XP, achievements, and a permanent entry in your activity history.
Everything else in Passport can wait. A wallet cannot: at the end of the season the snapshot is fixed for good. Without a wallet your points are still in it — the address column just stays empty, and after the freeze it cannot be filled in. This is not about XP burning: it does not go anywhere, and until Season 1 ends you can keep taking part without a wallet. From Season 2, there is no Passport access without a wallet and membership in the Gremlins Discord server. It is about this: the record of HOW MUCH happens either way; the record of WHERE only happens if an address is there at freeze time.
The cost is one message signature — not a transaction: nothing is minted or transferred, no gas is charged, and we never ask for your seed phrase anywhere. Right after linking you get the Connected medal and +50 XP. The wallet is permanent after the first link, so link one you control. On mobile a normal browser cannot see a wallet at all — see the “On mobile” section below for the way around it.
Link it on your passportIdentity, family number, XP, rank, achievements, your linked wallet, quests, and lore live here.
General chat, memes, help, voice, and community events stay in Discord. There is no embedded chat on this site.
We only ask you to sign a readable ownership message. Never share your recovery phrase or private key. Linking a wallet does not mint or transfer anything.
The “a wallet is not required” policy was our mistake, and Season 1 proved it: three quarters of members with XP never added an address. From Season 2 the rule changes: access to Passport requires membership in the Gremlins Discord server and a linked Solana wallet — without both, you won't be able to open your passport. Your number, XP and Season 1 record don't go anywhere, and access comes back the moment both conditions are met. Below is how it works until Season 1 ends. Five things sit behind a wallet, and one of them has a deadline. (1) +50 XP for the Connected medal, the moment you link. (2) Genesis holder status: ownership is verified against the LINKED wallet, so without one there is no verification — even if you already hold the NFT. (3) Holder-only quests — an entire category you cannot reach without that status. (4) +25% XP on every approved quest for holders — the largest permanent multiplier in the game. (5) The address column in the snapshot — and this is where the deadline is: the snapshot takes your address exactly as it stands at the season freeze, and after that it cannot be added. Without a wallet your points are still recorded, but the recipient stays empty: the record says HOW MUCH, not WHERE. Until Season 1 ends, the announced rule stands: a wallet is not required to take part — quests, XP, levels, ranks, streaks, the roulette, chaos boxes, referrals, memes and the meme contest, the leaderboard, lore and the generator all work without one. Linking is a message signature, not a transaction: nothing is minted or moved, and we never ask for a seed phrase anywhere. The wallet is permanent once linked, so link one you control.
Correction, 5 Aug 2026. We used to lead with “a wallet is optional” and leave the consequence as an afterthought; the “How it works” page even said “nothing in your progress is locked behind it” and “there is no deadline”. The first was the wrong emphasis, the second was simply inaccurate. The rule has not changed: a wallet is still not required to take part, and your points are recorded without one. What changed is that the consequence is no longer buried in a subordinate clause, and the deadline is named. We are correcting this openly and with a date, because quietly editing text about the snapshot would cost more than the inaccuracy itself.
Signing in with Discord works in any mobile browser — nothing to install, and quests, XP, memes and the leaderboard all work there as usual. Linking a wallet in regular Safari or Chrome, however, is NOT possible: phone browsers have no wallet extensions at all, so the site cannot see your wallet — and you won't see a Connect button there either. There is exactly one working path. (1) Install the Phantom or Solflare app. (2) Sign in and open your Passport: the wallet block shows "Open in Phantom" / "Open in Solflare" buttons that move the site into the app's built-in browser. (3) Sign in with Discord AGAIN there. The second sign-in is not an error and not a different account: the app's browser is separate from Safari, so your session doesn't travel with you. Same passport, same number, same XP. (4) From there it's the same as on a computer: Connect → sign the message → done. Signing is not a transaction: nothing is minted, no fee is charged, and we never ask for your seed phrase, anywhere. If the buttons aren't there (this happens on tablets that identify themselves as computers), open gremlins.w3ir.io by hand from the browser inside the wallet app — the result is the same.
XP is awarded only after verified quests or achievements. Clicking a button alone never earns XP.
Earn XP every day and your streak grows. From day 8 quest XP is ×1.5, from day 15 ×1.75, from day 30 ×2 (max). Miss a day and it resets. Only quest XP is multiplied.
One free spin a day (resets at 00:00 UTC) on Quests. Win 20–500 XP, a chaos crate, or a ×1.5 quest-XP boost. The boost runs from the moment you win it through the end of the next UTC day (so 24–48h) and stacks with your streak. It applies at the moment a quest is APPROVED, not submitted.
Milestones auto-grant medals (see below). Pick one earned medal on your passport to show as a badge by your name — on the leaderboard and your shareable card at /g/<number>.
Season XP is earned inside a time window — your lifetime passport XP never resets. Open Leaderboard → Season to see the live board and countdown. On Memes → Season, Top votes crown the seasonal meme contest. When the countdown hits zero the season board is closed: it stops moving and waits to be sealed.
Your passport number, which stays yours forever. The medals you earn. Your place in the sealed season standings. And a published snapshot of everyone's contribution, committed with a SHA-256 digest that anyone can recompute and check. There is no token attached to Season 1 and none is promised. The snapshot is a permanent, tamper-evident record of who was here and what they did — if and when there is something to allocate, a record like this is what it gets based on.
Two different clocks, stated up front so nothing is a surprise. (1) The SEASON board closes exactly at the end time — XP earned after it does not change season ranks, medals or the meme-contest podium, which are sealed from that closing state. (2) The AIRDROP snapshot is taken later, at the freeze, and scores your LIFETIME passport totals at that moment — so quests, medals and days you gain between the season end and the freeze still count toward the airdrop. The site keeps running normally in between; the freeze date is announced before it happens.
Each season the top-voted memes win bonus XP on top of the meme_creator medal — one prize per creator, and a meme needs at least one vote to place: +500 XP for 1st, +300 for 2nd, +150 for 3rd. Prizes are paid automatically when the season is finalized. Submit on Memes, then rally votes — the Season board (Memes → Season) ranks the field until the countdown ends.
Snapshots score: wxp·earnedXp + wachXp·achievementXp + wluck·luckXp + wach·ach + wgen·genesis + wq·quests + wd·days. XP is split into THREE parts, each with its own weight: earned (quests, referrals, contests) ×2, achievement XP ×0.3, luck XP (daily roulette + lootboxes) ×0.25. Plus: each achievement ×25, Genesis holder ×500, each quest ×50, each member-day ×1. Why achievements are weighted separately: they already paid out their XP, and without a separate weight the same fact would count twice — on live data that was 70% of the distribution, rewarding early sign-up rather than participation. The centre of gravity is now quests done across the season. Weights are announced BEFORE the freeze: these are the rules, not a change after the fact.
When the season freezes, the snapshot becomes append-only — no one, admins included, can edit or delete its rows — and is committed with a public SHA-256 digest. The digest attests not just how much but WHERE: the destination wallet and passport_no are frozen into the snapshot and included in the hash. Anyone can recompute the digest from the published CSV and verify that neither the allocation nor the destination changed after the freeze. If a wallet changes after freeze, a new snapshot with a new digest is required — the destination can never be swapped silently.
Quest XP is verified. In Season 1 every submission is reviewed by a human: auto-approve is off for the whole season (0 auto-approvals so far), because ahead of an irreversible freeze a manual queue beats any rule. One wallet = one passport: not a punishment after the fact but a database constraint — linking the same address to a second profile is technically impossible. Referral rewards wait 7 days after invite. Coordinated farming or duplicate proofs can mean removal from the airdrop snapshot; freeze still uses a human preflight review.
Season 1 ends on 2026-09-18, and the date is announced ahead of time precisely because nothing gets replayed after it. On that day the season table is finalised (medals, meme-contest prizes), and the snapshot is frozen and published together with its digest. What to do BEFORE: link a Solana wallet. Your row in the snapshot is written once and sealed — without a wallet the address column stays empty FOREVER, and nothing you do after 18.09 reaches back into that row. Everything else keeps going: XP, levels and medals still work on 19.09, they just can't touch a sealed record. From Season 2, Passport access requires a linked wallet and membership in the Gremlins Discord server. What will NOT happen: a token distribution. No token exists, and Season 1 isn't tied to one — what freezes is the record of contribution, not a payout. That's exactly why an empty address matters: it's a record of you that nobody can ever act on, whatever shows up later.
Most submissions in Season 1 are reviewed by a human, and proof-pattern auto-approval is off for the whole season. The exception is quests the server confirms itself: no proof field, no queue, because the fact can be checked exactly (whether a wallet is linked, whether there was work in the workshop, whether a link points to your own passport). Those count instantly. For the rest: it's usually quick, but there's no guaranteed turnaround — if a submission sits for more than a day, ask in #help on Discord, that's a fair question. A good proof links to your specific message or post, not to the channel in general — the reviewer should see the contribution without hunting for it. The same proof under two submissions reads as a duplicate and goes to manual review. Where the proof is your handle or your card, it belongs to one profile: the server will not accept someone else's.
A box drops for every new level, and you can also win one on the daily roulette. Opening it grants XP: 60% — 10 XP, 30% — 25 XP, 10% — 50 XP. Boxes wait indefinitely and never expire; open them any time on Quests. This is a bonus, not a progression path: box XP is deliberately tiny against level thresholds, so you can't grind rank with it.
Your passport has your code and link. When someone you invited reaches level 2, you get +200 XP — not for signing up, but for actually doing something. The reward lands 7 days after the link is made: the delay exists so mass one-day signups earn nothing. You can't refer yourself, and each profile can be referred only once.
A custom Gremlin avatar is generated right in your passport. The button unlocks at level 2 (300 XP) — the gate exists because generation costs money, and a level proves the profile is real. Free generations: 5 per profile; beyond that there's the extended W3IR workshop if you need more. The generated card is yours: you can set it as your passport avatar.
If your wallet holds an NFT from the Genesis collection, ownership is verified on-chain and the genesis_holder medal appears. What it gives: +25% XP on every approved quest, access to holder-only quests, and its own weight in the airdrop formula. The check reads your wallet — it never transfers or mints anything.
The Archive holds the chapters of the Gremlins universe, unlocked in order. Reading grants no XP and affects nothing: it's context, not mechanics. If you want to know where the ranks, the family and the chaos came from — start there.
Every passport has a public page at /g/<number> — number, rank, XP, medals and featured badge. It's visible without signing in, and unfurls as a card when shared to Discord or X. Nothing private is there: wallet, Discord handle and personal fields never reach the public page.
